đ How your passion can make you feel miserable
I know, I know. *rolls eyes*
Youâre all asking yourselves âHow on earth can the one thing that defines your purpose make you feel miserable?â
Well⊠it happens to the best of us so let me explain.
The novelty of finding your passion and trying to make it a full time gig is very exciting. However, the uncertainty that life presents may alter your perspective in due course.
The number one reason why people lose interest in their passion is because of the financial pressure and dependency on said activity for their survival.
This is unfortunate as it not only increases the burden on yourself and your dependents but simultaneously blows out the single burning flame that kept you curious about your passion in the first place.
When people use the phrase âLiving the Dreamâ ⊠more often than not theyâre talking about making crazy amounts of money from your dream job.
Social media has not done a great job in portraying the âdreamâ. We only see the success of the person and never get an insight into the journey that got them into their current position.
Weâre blind-sighted by the click-baited post and somehow gain a crazy amount of courage to pursue our passion full time without any foundation or security to ensure longevity.
Crappy individuals have used this as an opportunity to create several gimmicks to cheat innocent and gullible people through various financial scams.
The answer to relieve the monetary pressure that you might face when pursuing your passion is very straightforward.
Get a job.
As annoying as that sounds, it is the only thing that will protect your wick (passion) and ensure that your flame (curiosity) is still ignited.
Once you have a 9 to 5 job that gives you some financial stability. Youâll ask yourself âHow can I find time to pursue my craft?â The very thing that makes me happy.
Well thatâs simple, just create time for it.

Everyone who became successful at their craft with no financial help knows how hard it is to juggle several minimum wage jobs just so that you can support yourself whilst pursuing your passion on the side.
The people who tirelessly work 12 hour shifts and also find time for their passion during the early hours of the morning come from a different breed.
Theyâre hungry, determined and have unexplainable tunnel vision.
So when is the right time to quit that job to work on your passion full time?
Once you can consistently support your lifestyle.
The truth is that there will be so many more reasons for you to quit what you love doing but thatâs when you need to remember your answer to the golden question which is âWhy am I doing this?â.
This isnât for your family, friends or any stranger but YOU.
Your passion is almost a sense of identity.
The feeling of fulfillment cannot be experienced by people who donât follow their own dreams. Once you experience it, you canât let go of it. Itâs addictive and to lose it is as painful as losing a loved one.
When youâre at your day job or night shift and are starting to lose hope then do yourself a favor by remembering this;
âPerseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did ~ Newt Gingrich
